Youth Insights Summer Programs

Join the Whitney this summer as we create, learn, critique, discuss, and make art together with teens across NYC! Free MetroCards and all supplies provided. The application deadline for Summer 2023 is Friday, May 5 at 11:59 pm. 


Introductions 

Youth Insights Introductions is a free summer program for high school students who are English Language Learners. The program welcomes teens to the Whitney to explore, discover, and discuss American art, and to create original works of art and writing.

Arts Careers

YI Arts Careers is a free summer program that offers teens the opportunity to explore arts careers and arts institutions throughout New York City. Teens meet with Whitney Museum staff, arts professionals, and other teens.

Open Studio for Teens

Teens are invited to Open Studio for Teens, a free art-making program on select Fridays. Work with contemporary artists to create and learn new techniques with art projects inspired by the Whitney’s exhibitions and collection.

Teens must present proof of vaccination upon arrival at the Museum in accordance with New York City requirements. Face coverings are required at all times.

Proof of vaccination may include a CDC Vaccination Card (or photo), NYC COVID Safe app, New York State Excelsior Pass, NYC Vaccination Record, or an official immunization record from outside New York City or the United States.
