Contemporary Indigenous Art in a Global Context

In conjunction with his exhibition Wolf Nation, Mohawk artist Alan Michelson speaks with Anishinaabe curator Wanda Nanibush and Australian Aboriginal artist Richard Bell about their respective practices, recent and upcoming projects, and the ascendancy of contemporary Indigenous art in a global setting. The conversation is moderated by Chrissie Iles, Anne and Joel Erhenkraz Curator. Richard Bell is an artist who recently exhibited his monumental outdoor sculpture We Don’t Really Need This/EMBASSY in Venice. Wanda Nanibush is the inaugural curator of Indigenous Art and co-head of the Indigenous and Canadian Art Department at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
