Virtual Environment

The Whitney's virtual landscape is a space for convening, conversation, and exhibitions hosted by Mozilla Hubs. It was created in June 2023 to host a virtual convening of artists included in the exhibition Refigured. The Whitney plans to continue growing this virtual space and to host events and programming within it. Visitors can explore the environment online and see elements of works from the collection at any time.

Virtual Programming

Drawn from the Whitney’s collection and including video, animation, sculpture, and augmented reality, the works in Refigured reflect on interactions between digital and physical materiality.

On June 22, 2023, curator Christiane Paul was joined by Refigured artists Morehshin Allahyari, American Artist, Zach Blas, Auriea Harvey, and Rachel Rossin for the inaugural event hosted online in the new virtual venue.
