Join us for an opening celebration of no existe un mundo poshuracán: Puerto Rican Art in the Wake of Hurricane Maria, along with curatorial staff, artists, and fellow supporters. Titled after a verse from Puerto Rican poet Raquel Salas Rivera, no existe un mundo poshuracán is the first scholarly exhibition focused on Puerto Rican art organized by a large U.S. museum in nearly half a century. The survey brings together more than fifty artworks made over the last five years by an intergenerational group of artists from Puerto Rico and the diaspora.

At the Dawn of a New Age: Early Twentieth-Century American Modernism, The Whitney’s Collection: Selections from 1900 to 1965, Edward Hopper’s New York, In the Balance: Between Painting and Sculpture, 1965–1985, Time Management Techniques, and 2 Lizards will also be on view.
